Staying Loose

As you read in the title, this blog post will be about flexibility and various stretching methods.

Flexibility refers to the body's natural range of motion, it is a part of fitness that should be taken seriously, just as every other part. One of the biggest misconceptions about flexibility is that you need to be thin to be flexible, or that you lose muscle mass when you stretch. To this statement I just laugh. The benefits of high flexibility and regular stretching include fewer injuries and less pain, improved posture and balance, and you overall feel better.

Despite the absolute insane amount of stretches there are, they usually fall into one of 2 types.

Dynamic - which revolves around using repetitive movements.

Static - Which revolves around holding certain positions for a certain amount of time.

The best is to have both types incorporated into your daily routine.
