Testosterone: Myths, Facts, and Lifestyle Fixes Health · Science · Lifestyle In-Depth Health Feature Testosterone: Myths, Facts, and Lifestyle Fixes Everything you've been told about testosterone is probably incomplete — here's what the science actually says By Francouis Pretorius · April 2026 · 8-minute read Testosterone myths debunked, facts explained, and proven lifestyle fixes to naturally optimize your levels for energy, mood, and long-term health. Ask most people what testosterone does, and you'll hear something about aggression, masculinity, or "getting jacked at the gym." What you need is consistency, community, and creativity — all of which we have in abundance here in the Land of the Brave. 1. Start With What You Have You don’t need a gym to get strong. You have your body, the floor, the sun, and the sand. That’s enough. Greetings, welcome to another one of my health and fitness posts. On this one I'm going to give you the basics of structuring an exercise routine, now you might be wondering 'Why do I need to make a routine, can't I just do whatever?' the answer is no you can't just do whatever, consistency is key to effectiveness and routines help us in keeping that consistency. A surprising amount of people don't realize that you can get vitamins and minerals from the common foods we eat daily. Met someone once complaining about how they don't get enough vitamins because the supplements are getting expensive, I asked about their diet, and they got very indignant, claiming "it's not like I can eat rocks." Every day I lose more and more hope for humanity. Anyway! Here are some common vitamins and minerals and the foods that contain them Vitamins Vitamin A - Eggs, Butter, Carrots, Milk, Liver, Cabbage Vitamin B1 - Peas, Meat, Potato's, Soya-beans, Milk (Again?) As you read in the title, this blog post will be about flexibility and various stretching methods. Flexibility refers to the body's natural range of motion, it is a part of fitness that should be taken seriously, just as every other part. One of the biggest misconceptions about flexibility is that you need to be thin to be flexible, or that you lose muscle mass when you stretch. To this statement I just laugh. The benefits of high flexibility and regular stretching include fewer injuries and less pain, improved posture and balance, and you overall feel better. Despite the absolute insane amount of stretches there are, they usually fall into one of 2 types. Dynamic - which revolves around using repetitive movements. Static - Which revolves around holding certain positions for a certain amount of time. The best is to have both types incorporated into your daily routine.
